EMPLOYEE LIQUOR PERMITS

Q. How can I get Employee Liquor Permit?

A: You can get a copy of the of the permit by clicking H E R E

Then you supply a BACKGROUND CHECK with the application. For the Background Check, click on the link H E R E

Once your at the Highway Patrol Website click on the link for "Name Search", and fill in the infomration required, and pay the required fee.

There is also a $10.00 per-license fee for each Establishment you apply for due to the City of Weston.

Only 1 background check is required every 6 months.

So if you get a Background Check in January for 1 Establishment, and get another at the second Establishment in May, then you don't need another Background Check done.

Q. How quick can I get a copy of an Accident report?

Q. I have a friend / relative that was arrested by your department, where were they taken ?

All persons arrested are taken to the Platte County Sheriff's Office Detention Center. CLICK - H E R E - FOR IN CUSTODY LIST

Q. Can I burn outside in the City ?

COURT CASE
Q. How do I continue my case?

A: The Court Clerk is allowed to grant one continuance. Attorneys must enter their appearance by faxing an "entry of appearance" to the court clerk, and may be granted two plea docket continuances. If you need legal advice please contact a licensed Missouri attorney.

Q. When is my court date?

A: Check your citation in the upper top left corner or please call (816) 640-2752 for specific court date information.

Q. How do I get a public defender?

A: You must appear on your court date and make a formal request before the Court. The Weston Municipal Court does not employ public defenders.

Q. I've moved. What information do I need to give the Court Clerk?

A: It is the defendant's (your) responsibility to keep the Court Clerk informed of your correct address. You may mail the information to the court address listed on our Municipal Court PAGE - CLICK HERE or call the court office at (816) 640-2752.

FINES AND PAYMENTS
Q. What forms of payment are accepted?

A: We accept cash, cashier's checks and money orders & personal checks. **Please do not mail cash**.

Q. Can I pay double to have a speeding ticket kept off my record?

A: No. You must contact a licensed Missouri attorney.

Q. How do I pay for my ticket?

A: You may pay for your ticket using one of the following options:
- Mail In: By money order or cashier's check personal or business checks.
- In Person: By cash, money order, cashier's check personal or business checks between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Q. When do I have to pay my ticket?

A: The due date is listed on the top left hand corner of your citation under court date. You may also call the court office Monday through Friday at (816) 640-2752 for the due date.

Q. What happens if I don't pay my ticket on time?

A: A failure to appear notice will be issued and mailed to your address that was on the ticket and a warrant may also be issued for your arrest and notification will be sent to the Department of Revenue for the suspension of your license.

LIQUOR LAWS
Q. Can I have a open container of liquor in public or in my vehicle ?

A: No, a person may not consume liquor, such as beer, mixed drinks on public streets nor can you have a open container anywhere in a motor vehicle. This includes party buses, or limos while being operated on the City Streets, public parking lots or Highways of this City.

In addition, liquor establishments (Bars, Pubs ect.) are not allowed to have anyone leave their place of business with an open container.

TRAFFIC & ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
Q. I received a Traffic Citation do I have to appear in court?

A: Yes & No, It depends on the charge, to see a list of the required court appearances please click H E R E

Q. I received a Citation for an Ordinance violation do I have to appear in court?

A: Yes, you must appear on the court date indicated on the citation.

Q. How do I get my drivers license re-instated?

A: You must pay any and all outstanding citations and obtain a compliance letter. You may take the compliance letter to a driver's license bureau. The Department of Motor Vehicles charges a re-instatement fee of $20 plus a processing fee. Please contact the Department of Revenue with specific questions at (573) 751-4475.

Q. What is the seat belt law in Missouri?

A: The City of Weston is one of 37 City's & 1 County in the State that has a Primary Seatbelt Law.

Q. What is the law on Mopeds (scooters) in the City ?

A: Mopeds, Scooters, Motorized Bicycles are allowed to be operated on the City Streets & Highways. *You must have a valid drivers license and obey all traffic laws. We also recommend you wear an approved motorcycle helmet.

A: Basically No, 4-Wheelers are not allowed to be operated on the City Streets or Highways of this City. *However there are some exceptions to the Ordinance.
